When 99 Royale first came onto our radar at Winlandia, the idea sounded interesting but also raised a few practical questions. It is still a slot, but now there is a live battle happening around the spins. So what actually changes when you open the game?
99 Royale is a new multiplayer slot format from G Games that adds a live Battle Royale around the usual slot play. Here are three things worth knowing before you try it.
1. Your normal slot wins still count
99 Royale does not replace the familiar slot game underneath. You spin as usual, and each winning spin pays according to the game just like a normal slot. Your normal slot wins are paid as you play, so you do not need to wait until the battle ends.
The difference is that winning spins also build Battle Power, which you can use in the multiplayer battle.
2. You battle real players, and your decisions matter
You are battling other real players. A battle can include up to 99 players, but you do not need to wait for 98 others before anything happens. You can keep spinning while the lobby fills.
During the battle, you choose who to target and can switch targets. Your attacks reduce another player’s health, and reaching zero means elimination.
Knock out a player and you can take over their level rank. Taking out someone higher up the battle can therefore move you much further towards the top.
The reel results are still random. What you can control is who you target and how you use the Battle Power your wins give you.
3. There is an extra Battle Prize to play for
To improve your chances in the battle, you need to knock out opponents and move as high as possible in the rankings. You do not have to be the last player standing to win a Battle Prize. The top-ranking players share the prize, with higher positions earning a bigger share.
The Battle Prize is separate from your normal slot winnings, so there is something extra to play for.
